Common questions

Which iPhone do I need?

Any iPhone that runs iOS 26. The outline is drawn from the front depth camera, so it needs an iPhone with Face ID. Without one, there is no outline and everything else works.

Why can't I see myself?

That is the point: people look at the lens when there is no face to look at. For setup, Settings → Live View shows a small view before a take, always, or never, in a corner or full screen.

How do I get a script from my Mac?

Save a Markdown or text file into the Founder Camera folder in iCloud Drive. It appears in Scripts on your iPhone when iCloud has carried it over, usually within moments. iCloud Drive must be on for Founder Camera on your iPhone.

Where do my takes go?

To your Photos library. If you have not given Founder Camera access to Photos, takes are saved in the Founder Camera folder in the Files app on your iPhone instead.

My take has no sound.

Check that Founder Camera may use the microphone: Settings → Apps → Founder Camera → Microphone. The microphone meter in the studio should move when you speak; tap it to see which microphone is in use.

Which microphones work?

The iPhone's own microphone, any wired or USB-C microphone, and AirPods. A plugged-in microphone is used as soon as it is connected. AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 record at full quality when selected in Control Center.

Is there a subscription?

No. Founder Camera is one price, paid once through the App Store. There is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

How do I ask for a refund?

Purchases go through Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can you see my videos or scripts?

No. Takes go to your Photos library and scripts to your own iCloud Drive. Nothing reaches us. The privacy policy says so in full.
