Privacy Policy
Nothing about you leaves your iPhone.
941 Apps, LLC (“we”, “us”) makes Founder Camera. This policy explains what the app handles and where it goes. The short version: Founder Camera has no account. What it records or reads stays on your device and in your own Apple services. We never see your videos, your scripts, or your face. The one thing the app sends us is anonymous diagnostics, which you can turn off.
What the app uses
- Camera and depth sensor. The front camera records your video. On an iPhone with Face ID, the app reads the depth sensor to draw the outline on the screen; on other devices, it finds you in the camera image instead. Either way the outline is made moment to moment on the device and is never stored or sent anywhere.
- Microphone. Your voice is recorded as part of the take.
- Takes. Finished takes are saved to your Photos library, or to the app's own folder in the Files app if you have not given it access to Photos. They are never uploaded by us.
- Scripts. Scripts are text or Markdown files in the app's folder. With iCloud Drive on, the folder syncs across your devices under your Apple Account, handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. With it off, scripts stay on the device. We never have access to them.
- Settings. Your choices of light, reading speed, text, camera adjustments, and live view are stored on the device.
Face data
Founder Camera does not collect face data. To draw the outline that helps you frame yourself, the app reads the front camera's depth sensor (TrueDepth) on an iPhone with Face ID, or, on a device without one, finds you in the camera image with Apple's on-device person segmentation. Each frame becomes a plain silhouette: which parts of the picture are you and which are the room. The app does not detect, map, measure or recognize your face or its features, creates no face geometry or biometric identifier, and never uses this data to identify anyone. The depth and segmentation data are processed on your device, frame by frame, held in memory only until the next frame is drawn, and are never written to storage, sent off your device, shared with us or any third party, or included in diagnostics. Your recordings, which show your face, are saved only where you choose: your Photos library, or the app's folder in Files. We never receive them, and you delete them as you would any photo or file.
How it is used
Only to record your video and to show your outline, your light, and your script. We do not collect, share, sell, or disclose any of it, because none of it reaches us.
Anonymous diagnostics
To keep Founder Camera reliable, the app sends us crash and performance reports from Apple's MetricKit and a count of finished takes, with three coarse facts: where the outline came from, whether the take went to Photos or Files, and a length band. They contain none of your scripts, titles, video or sound, and no identifier of you: they are grouped under a random installation id that names the install, not the person. There is no advertising and no tracking. Turn them off in Settings → Share Anonymous Diagnostics; turning them off deletes anything waiting to be sent and this install's reports on our server. The App Store privacy label lists this as Data Not Linked to You.
This website
foundercamera.com counts page views through 941 Apps' own analytics service so we know which pages are read. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address or your browser's identifying details. Pages read in one visit are grouped by a random identifier kept in that browser tab and discarded when the tab closes, so a visit cannot be linked to the next one. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver it.
Children
Founder Camera is made for adults recording their own videos and is not directed to children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
